In
practical every village one will find a castle, some beautifully conserved,
others complete ruins.
The history behind all those castles leads back to the Roman occupation,
the French Popes and several Counts and Barons who had here there place of
residence. Many
castles have now another destination, they can houses museums, hotels, a
luxurious bed- and breakfast or may have become the property of one of the
many vineyards..
